| Q. With
the new DRPRO 2010 only 'Administrators' can add new projects onto the
list. Can this be changed so that everybody using DRPRO can do so?
A. All you need to do there is change a
little setting to give everybody access to manipulating projects: Go to
'Administrators Menu', then 'Global Defaults', and in that first tab
you'll see an item labelled 'Authority required to manipulate projects'.
Change it from 'Administrator' to 'Operator' and Save. That's it!
Incidentally, when this was introduced
in the 2010 version, the default should have been left as 'Operator'
and let the end users elevate it to 'Administrator' if they wanted
to, but by the time we realized our mistake, it was too late to
change! Too many downloads had already been done... But it is
already changed for the next version update.

Q. We need to
incorporate mixed alpha numeric characters as revisions, i.e
C1,D1,T1,P1
as example. Currently we are able to input only either letter (A,B,C
etc) or numbers (1,2,3 etc) but not both.
A. If this is a special case of
revision sequencing for a particular project, then the best way to
handle it is to add a new Revision System, then add the Revision
Sequences and Labels next to it. The image below is an example of
what you can do there:
.jpg)
You need to specify the sequences that
will be used, and leave a number gap when you start with a new
'series', such as changing from the C series to the
D series. By doing that, you have enough space to
slot other revision labels in between if you need to. In the example
above we allowed groups of 10, but it could be 100 or even 1000,
doesn't really matter what the number is, as long as the sequence is
right. Even the starting number can be a high number, so as to
allow you to slot in other revisions below the sequence already
entered.
Next, after you do the above, you need
to specify the Revision System being used in the 'Project Entry
Form', towards the bottom. You need to do this for each project that
uses this particular Revision System.

| Q. I keep getting an error message like
'Error 37 - File not open' What is happening?
A. With the introduction of v4, We
think that all instances of this 'Error 37' have been eliminated, but
should you still find any appearing, please let us know, we really need
to know about it! What
is happening is that the internal counter that keeps track of which
files are open and which files are closed is getting mixed up due to
certain sequences of events, and reports a file as being close while in
fact it is still open. You may notice that when this error occurs, some
buttons on the screen will appear as dimmed. The only way to reset the
internal counter is to exit DRPRO and restart again. No loss of
information is caused by this error.

| Q. I tried to put a logo on top of the page,
but it appears stretched and out of proportion. What am I doing wrong?
A. Under Issue Slip template, you may design your own
transmittal slip headings, logo and wording. The top portion is reserved
for a logo occupying the size of 7.4" x 1.25" (188mm x 32mm)
or in the same proportion. This logo is user defined, and can be of any
of the following formats: BMP, PCX, JPG, WMF, and GIF. The JPG
format is preferred because it is usually smaller is size and reduces
the time taken to print each transmittal slip. For some ideas on what
can be done with this logo, refer to the sample image files provided
with this program located in the Data directory.
Please note that if your logo is to occupy only a small area of the
allocated image size, you must still create a blank image of the size
described above and then put your logo anywhere in this space. The text
is superimposed on top the image, and is also user definable. Click on
the buttons on top of the Issue Slip Template for all the different
options available. The fonts selected must be available on every
computer that will have access to this program.
A good explanation of the above is
given in the DRPRO User's Manual under the heading 'Customizing the
Transmittal Slip Template'. In DRPRO 2010, the PDF User's Manual is
accessible directly from the Main Menu.

| Q. How often must I backup DRPRO?
A. It is your responsibility to do regular backups of your data (not
only for DRPRO!) because no file can be considered 100% clean 100% of
the time. Many combinations of events can cause data files to get
corrupted due to reasons beyond the control of DRPRO, such as power
fluctuations, power cuts, faulty hardware, particularly network cards,
operating system glitches, not having the latest service packs of your
operating system, and many more. Therefore you should backup your data
on a daily basis, and keep a rotating set of backup tapes (or whatever
system you use), so that if data files do get corrupted, (believe me,
they do!) you can always restore the previous backup set of data and
re-enter the information for the day again, be it new documents or
companies registered, or actual transmittal slips, which hopefully you
have kept a printed copy in your archives.
Please remember that LDA Computing cannot be held responsible for loss
of data due to lack of backups or due to any of the reasons mentioned
above.
